November is here and that means it's time for college hoops! The early part of the college hoops schedule includes NCAA Tournaments and it all got started on Monday, November 10th with the opening day of the Coaches vs Cancer Classic. The biggest school in play on the first day of the 2008 season was Duke and we'll start our previews with the ACC as we gear up for a new season!

Duke - The Blue Devils are very strong as usual but they also tend to be overvalued in the betting arena. The Blue Devils are strong on the perimeter but their size inside is a legitimate concern. When they match-up with an opponent with a lot of size and strength down low it will be a challenge for Duke.

North Carolina - The Tar Heels top six scorers from last season all return and that includes their starting five. However, they are a public team and they covered at a very high rate last season. A repeat is unlikely and how will Tyler Hansbrough respond after his injury?

Clemson - The Tigers lost three seniors from last season's team and their defense is a question mark. They will run and gun under Oliver Purnell but will they take defense seriously?

Virginia Tech - Four out of five starters return including a key member of the backcourt, A.D. Vassallo. Missing out on the Big Dance last season keeps this team hungry this year!

Miami - The Hurricanes have their top five scorers back from last season including solid talent on the perimeter and in the paint! With North Carolina and Duke getting all the attention the Hurricanes could offer solid line value!

Maryland - The Terrapins are in a down cycle right now. They simply have regressed too much in recent seasons and they lost key players to transfers and off the court problems heading into this season. That means too much pressure will be put on guard Greivis Vazquez this season.

Georgia Tech - Defense and rebounding are keys to being a successful team on the hardwood. The Yellow Jackets struggled in both areas last season and this season is likely to be even worse! The Jackets lost key players to graduation and another one who decided he wanted to play pro ball overseas! Not enough depth here for Georgia Tech.

Wake Forest - They are on their way up. The Demon Deacons return their top nine scorers from last season's team. They also have a strong influx of additional talent on hand thanks to their solid recruiting efforts. Wake Forest did struggle on the road in ACC games last season but this is a team to keep an eye on this season!

Florida State - Stock is down in the land of the Seminoles! Even though the Noles have just missed the Big Dance the past two seasons, they're now without key players lost to graduation. This looks like a rebuilding year!

NC State - This team was a moneyburner last season. They have talent but they lack consistency. If Sidney Lowe can get this team to play as more of a cohesive unit the Wolfpack could surprise.

Boston College - It's Tyrese Rice and then a lot of unproven youth for the Eagles. In the ultra-competitive ACC that spells trouble for B.C. With head coach Al Skinner running the show, younger players will also still be trying to best understand his Flex Offense.

Virginia - Gone is Sean Singletary and the talented guard was the leader for this team in all phases. It is likely that it will be a long season in Charlottesville! They just don't appear to have the offense to keep up in the ACC and that went from bad to worse with the loss of Singletary.
